In light of the recent FDA announcement banning ingredients in many of antibacterial hand sanitizer products, we can choose soap & water or make your own – DIY hand sanitizer recipe below.
Here’s an easy, kid friendly liquid hand sanitizer recipe:
Small glass spray bottle (4 oz)
Distilled water or witch hazel
1 tsp. fractionated coconut oil
A dollop of aloe vera gel (if desired)
10 total drops Protective essential oil blend ( This blend includes wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus, and rosemary essential oils)
5-10 drops other essential oil (lemon or tea tree is a good choice)
Play around with the oils to get the smell ratio you’d like. The key is to make sure you have antibacterial / cleansing oils like citrus oil, eucalyptus and/or melaleuca in the mix.
Add 3/4’s container of water, then coconut oil, essential oils, close container, shake and go!
*Be sure to use a quality essential oil! (I use these)
