A New Year, A New You!

Happy New Year!

As we enter a brand new year, this is a great time to set some positive goals for the health and happiness of you and your family. Many people use the New Year holiday as a time to create a list of things they’d like to accomplish in the year ahead, and to set plans of action on how to get those things done. Dieting and exercise are always big goals for the New Year, so we’d like to share a few simple ideas that can help get you and your family in the best shape ever this year without all the hassle.

  • If you’re dealing with allergies, now is the time to look at an elimination diet and see how it might help you discover hidden allergies so that you can take control this year. Remember that many food allergies can cause weight and health problems – so this is always a great place to start!
  • Instead of thinking about calorie counting and all of the diet hassle, think about just making positive changes to what you eat. Replacing your usual diet with more greens is a great start, and many people find that slowly changing what they eat changes everything!
  • Avoid fad diets and starvation diets – these simply don’t work and cause more trouble than they solve. Instead of trying to fix everything overnight, make small, measurable changes in ways that you can be in complete control of. Again, cutting back on sweets or choosing more living foods is a great way to make changes that you’ll see and feel without all the stress.
  • Exercise and movement can relieve stress, calm the immune system, aid in weight loss, and create better sense of self worth. Parking a few spaces further away at the store, taking the stairs instead of the escalator, walking around the block once a day, or finding more time to play actively with your kids are all great ways to get your heart rate up and get the good things flowing in your body! No matter what you do for exercise, check it over with your doctor first and always make sure that you’re having fin when you do it. If there’s no smile, you won’t make the mile!

2013 is a great New Year to make positive changes in your life. We have so much amazing information right now about health, wellness, preventative medicine, and diet that it’s easier then ever before to make small changes and see big results.

Here’s to all of our health and happiness!

Wishing you a healthy and happy New Year…
