Should you entertain an alternative method?

After the first NAET blog post by Jennifer went live, I was excited to see the outcome. Upon waiting for the part 2 to post, there was unexpected opposition to NAET treatment. Most of us have heard that finding the underlying cause to itchy/sensitive skin is a trial and error process. I was caught off guard when a commenter gave some expected opposition to alternative methods. While this person had valid concerns, it made me re-evaluate the need for alternative medicine. During my search for the cure, I’ve become aware of many different ideas and ways to hopefully reduce itchiness, Read More

NAET – Miracle cure or hoax? Part II Conclusion

Earlier in Part 1, we discussed why Jennifer began the journey of NAET to determine if it would be a miracle cure or hoax. Read Part I here. More importantly, if it would help Tristan with his concerns. After the Treatment At the end of each treatment session Tristan could have absolutely no exposure to the substance being treated for a 25-hour period. He couldn’t eat or touch anything made of the substance. So, for example, one time we treated my son for calcium. He could only drink and clean himself with distilled water. That was difficult. The search for an Aquaphor alternative – Part III Coconut Verdict

I wasn’t expecting to do a part 3, I really thought I was done testing Coconut oil. I started to notice pin needle bumps popping up everywhere on my daughter’s torso and back, then on her thighs. I had been giving her several oranges a day (those little cuties) and thought those could be the culprit. However, I stopped giving those to her for a few days and the inflamed itchy areas didn’t change. Then it dawned on me, that it’s a reaction to the Coconut Oil! Crazy because these itchy areas took days to pop up (over a week). Read More

Seeing eczema for the first time….Update!!

After writing about Althea’s family experience a few months ago, we were excited to take a moment to catch up with her again for updates! We’ll cut right to the chase and focus on Esau, as his sibling’s have just about grown out of their eczema. Shortly after being around Althea’s energetic and loving bunch, she quickly grabbed my attention towards Esau’s arms. Althea was SO elated that she tried wet dresses for his arms because of the overnight improvement she’s witnessed. Their pediatrician suggested that she try a wet dress to increase his moisture retention. And sure enough, although Read More

The search for an Aquaphor alternative – Part II Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil Results! In my previous post, I was trying unrefined Coconut Oil as an Aquaphor alternative. I was very excited and a little skeptical, yet hopeful. We had been using Aquaphor and have gotten use to it’s thickness and consistency. Therefore switching to coconut oil has been a little different. *Important Disclaimer: Before apply new creams over the entire body, test a small area to see if the skin reacts. I started to use Coconut Oil on December 14. I took a short break from it over the holiday break as I was a little frustrated that it wasn’t Read More
